Grand View Pavilion of Kunming is taken as the prototype for main building in the garden, its simple and tasteful style highlights the architectural characteristics of classical garden in Kunming, the long antithetical couplet hung in front of the pavilion was written by Sun Ranweng, a famous scholar of Kunming during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, and its length is 180 Chinese characters; it describes the scenery around Kunming and Yunnan with a history of several thousand years, and it is praised as the longest of the kind in China. The garden view of water area and water flowing beneath a little bridge embodies the scene of Grand View Pavilion facing Dianchi Lake with the vast expanse of misty waters.
The flower belt composed of colorful fresh flowers implies the features of very abundant tourist resource of Yunnan which means “south of the colorful clouds”.
